I was fortunate to get a good site, but the majority of sites are less than desirable. Security patrols came by frequently. The park and trails are very nice--inviting for families to visit. Water pad for the kids. lots of shelters and picnic areas. and a good size lake (being drained at present). Service at the Lodge Restaurant left something to be desired. Bathrooms are old, but clean and arranged nicely so that one can get dressed without water slurping underfoot. Rate based upon senior discount. Regular rate $23.

Wonderful little park. Very clean. Lovely hosts. Got there just in time for leaf peak. Trails are fun. Bridge is fun. Some in our group went kayaking. Sites are large and very level. Have nothing but good remarks about this park. Great (close) get-away from Atlanta. I'm not sure my rate is accurate. I'm a friend of Georgia Parks, and I also get a senior discount. Can't beat Georgia State Parks--some are just a little better than others--this is one of those.

A nice park with lots to do, i.e., hiking, fishing, etc. The bathrooms were clean for the first few days, but as time passed and more people used them, they weren't kept as they should have been. Regarding the restaurant. We were a group of four. The service was awful and the food was bad. There was one other group of people in the whole restaurant. They were not pleased, either. It does have a lovely view of the lake and very nice decor. I didn't take the restaurant in to consideration in my overall rating because it's kind of separate from the campground. Clifton Forge had some nice restaurants, and a hardware store that topped off propane and charged by the pound.

A small jewel in Charlotte. A wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature. Bathrooms are not only clean, but private 8 X 10 full baths! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Big rigs, make reservations early. All sites pull-through. I wish I could have spent more time. I will go back.

The showers were not in the most convenient location, and are $1.00 for 5 minutes. The attendant was most helpful and very friendly. The laundry had four washing machines and six dryers, I think. Deer were everywhere. Everyone in my group saw a black bear except me. Cell connection available only on the back porch of the Lodge which is very nice. We enjoyed the entertainment one evening in the Taproom. Great hiking trails from easy to difficult. Senior rate $10.00 per night. (866) 875-8456
